MOHNTON, Pa. – Home Depot employees are giving the Mohnton VFW a makeover.

Employees rolled up their sleeves this morning.

They made repairs, painted walls, installed a safety rail, and did some concrete work.

Officials with the VFW say it’s been a long time since work like this has been done.

They say they hope the upgrades mean more veterans can stop in.

“We’re working to try and get this place handicapped accessible because it is a VWF, and you know, you have veterans who are handicapped and it’s never been handicapped accessible here,” said John Renninger, senior commander at Mohnton VFW.

“Team Depot” is made up of volunteers who work at Home Depot.

Last year, the group completed nearly 2,500 projects like this nationwide.
