PLUS, DOZENS OF FLIERS ASSOCIATED WITH THE KKK ARE SPOTTED IN LOCAL COMMUNITIES. WE’LL HEAR FROM A RESIDENT WHO DISCOVERED THEM AND DETAILED THE POLICE INVESTIGATION. THE HOUSE IS EXPECTED TO VOTE THIS WEEK ON RELEASING THE EPSTEIN FILES. I’M JACKIE DEFUSCO IN WASHINGTON, WITH ITS ODDS OF PASSING. AND A HOLIDAY TRADITION IN THE CITY OF PITTSBURGH. A LIVE LOOK WE HAVE HERE AT THE CITY’S CHRISTMAS TREE BEING DECORATED THAT’S TAKING PLACE THROUGHOUT THE DAY. WE’LL ALSO TELL YOU ABOUT THE SPECIAL MEANING BEHIND THIS YEAR’S DECORATIONS. PITTSBURGH’S ACTION NEWS FOUR THIS MORNING STARTS NOW, GIVING US A GLIMPSE AT THE HOLIDAYS ARE, YES, APPROACHING LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AWAY FROM THANKSGIVING. WE THANK YOU FOR BEING WITH US ON THIS SUNDAY MORNING. I’M RYAN RECKER IN FOR LILY COLEMAN. LET’S GET THINGS STARTED WITH OUR CERTIFIED MOST ACCURATE FORECAST METEOROLOGIST JILL SZWED HERE TO SET US UP ON THIS SUNDAY, AND IT FEELS LIKE THE HOLIDAY SEASON AS THAT COLD WIND IS BACK ACROSS THE AREA TO KEEP A LITTLE CHILL IN THE AIR, NOT JUST THROUGH THE DAY, BUT OVER THE NEXT THREE DAYS AS WELL. HIGH TEMPERATURES SLIDING BACK INTO THE 40S 60S SURE WERE NICE YESTERDAY. THE WIND, THOUGH, KIND OF A LITTLE UNFRIENDLY FOR US TODAY, COULD BE GUSTING ANYWHERE FROM 30 TO EVEN 40MPH. NOT TOO FAR OFF FROM MONROEVILLE. ALSO CONTAINING AND GREENSBURG. STRONGEST WIND GUSTS OF THE BUNCH HERE AT THE TOP OF THE 9:00 HOUR. BUT YOU CAN SEE THE WIND IS CERTAINLY STIFF ALL ACROSS THE AREA. AS WE GET YOUR SUNDAY UP AND RUNNING, A LITTLE SHAKE TO ACTION CAM, AS WELL AS POINTED FROM MOUNT WASHINGTON OVER TOWARDS ACRISURE STADIUM. RIGHT NOW IT IS 44, BUT IT FEELS LIKE 36. AND OVER THE NEXT 12 HOURS OUR TEMPERATURES HOLD STEADY. IF NOT, DROP A FEW DEGREES THROUGH THE 40S. FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURES THOUGH. WILL BE ABOUT TEN OR SO DEGREES COLDER THAN THAT BECAUSE OF THE WIND. THEY’LL CONTINUE TO BLOW THROUGH WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA. IT’S NOT JUST THE WIND TODAY, BUT ALSO SOME FLURRIES ALONG FOR THE RIDE. THAT’S PRIMARILY GOING TO IMPACT AREAS UP ALONG I-80. BUT AS WE BREAK DOWN YOUR STEELERS GAME DAY FORECAST, MAYBE YOU’RE ABOUT TO HEAD OUT THE DOOR. HEAD TO THE TAILGATE. SO GETTING UNDERWAY HERE OVER THE NEXT HOUR OR SO, OBVIOUSLY A LITTLE CHILL IN THE AIR. THERE WILL BE SOME BREAKS FOR SUNSHINE. STILL CHILLY AND WINDY AROUND THAT 1:00 KICKOFF. AGAIN, PLAN TO DRESS IN PLENTY OF BLACK AND GOLD LAYERS FOR THOSE FEELS-LIKE TEMPERATURES IN THE 30S THROUGHOUT THE DAY. I’LL SHOW YOU HOW LONG THIS CHILL WILL LAST AND WHEN TEMPERATURES START TO WARM, BACK UP WITH THE REST OF YOUR 4-DAY PLUS 4 MORE IN A FEW MINUTES. WE HAVE NEW DETAILS ON A DEADLY SHOOTING LAST NIGHT IN DERRY TOWNSHIP, WESTMORELAND COUNTY STATE POLICE SAY IT STARTED AS A DOMESTIC CALL ON JAMES STREET AND A REPORT OF A MAN FIRING SHOTS. THAT MAN DIED IN THE COUNTY. CORONER HAS IDENTIFIED HIM AS 28 YEAR OLD RYAN HUNKER. WE CONTINUE TO GATHER MORE INFORMATION AND WILL PROVIDE UPDATES THROUGHOUT THE DAY. NEW THIS MORNING, A CRASH INVOLVING A PITTSBURGH POLICE CRUISER IS UNDER INVESTIGATION. PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICIALS SAY YESTERDAY EVENING, TWO OFFICERS WERE RESPONDING TO A TRAFFIC STOP IN EAST LIBERTY WHEN THEIR CRUISER COLLIDED WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE AT THE INTERSECTION OF EAST LIBERTY BOULEVARD AND NORTH HIGHLAND. THE WOMAN WHO WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INJURED. THE OFFICER DRIVING THE CRUISER WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL FOR DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTING, ACCORDING TO PROTOCOL. POLICE ARE LOOKING INTO FLIERS WITH MESSAGES FROM THE KU KLUX KLAN IN SEVERAL LOCAL COMMUNITIES. PITTSBURGH’S ACTION NEWS FOUR REPORTER FELICITY TAYLOR SPOKE WITH ONE WOMAN WHO SPOTTED THEM ON HER STREET. I INSTANTLY BURST INTO TEARS. I WAS JUST REALLY UPSET. I STARTED TO PANIC AND LIKE I SAID, I JUST STARTED COLLECTING THEM. LIKE INSTANTLY. IT WAS MY INSTINCT. HORRIFYING MESSAGES ON DOZENS OF FLIERS SCATTERED OVER MULTIPLE BLOCKS IN TARENTUM AND BRACKENRIDGE. A BUNCH OF DIFFERENT WHITE SUPREMACIST GROUP MESSAGES, AND THEY WERE REALLY DISTURBING. JUST BASICALLY GIVING ADDRESSES, TRYING TO GET PEOPLE TO JOIN TARENTUM. POLICE SAY THE FLIERS WERE ASSOCIATED WITH A FACTION OF THE KU KLUX KLAN. THEY’RE NOW TRYING TO FIND WHO PUT THEM THERE. NEIGHBORS ARE SHOCKED. I LOOKED AT IT AND I WAS I WAS A LITTLE BLOWN AWAY BECAUSE I WAS LIKE THE KKK. WHAT WENT LIKE THAT’S. I’VE NEVER, LIKE, SEEN THAT UP HERE. LIKE HEARD OF THAT IMMEDIATELY. MORGAN HUEY SAYS SHE PICKED UP AS MANY AS SHE COULD AND BROUGHT THEM TO THE POLICE STATION. I REALLY WANTED TO GET THEM OFF THE STREETS, JUST IN GENERAL, SO NOBODY ELSE SAW IT, BECAUSE I DON’T WANT ANYBODY TO SEE THOSE HATEFUL MESSAGES. BUT IN SPECIFIC, WE HAVE A LOT OF CHILDREN WHO LIVE ON OUR STREET, AND I DON’T THINK IT’S FAIR FOR THEM TO HAVE TO SEE SOMETHING SO HATEFUL. RESIDENTS DESCRIBED THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD AS CALM TO ACTION NEWS FOUR. THEY SAY YOU’LL OFTEN SEE KIDS PLAYING OUTSIDE AND NEIGHBORS GETTING TOGETHER. THEY SAY THEY WON’T ACCEPT THIS HATE IN THEIR COMMUNITY. HATE MESSAGE BEING SPREAD ISN’T OKAY. AND THEN THE FACT THAT WE’RE DESTROYING OUR COMMUNITY AND DOING THIS, IT’S NOT OKAY. IT’S IT’S WRONG. AND IT’S JUST SAD THAT WE HAVE TO LIKE, SEE THIS TYPE OF STUFF. I HOPE THAT WHOEVER DID THIS, THEY CAN FIND THEM AND THEY CAN BE PUT TO JUSTICE. AND TORONTO POLICE ARE ASKING ANYONE WITH CAMERA OR DOORBELL FOOTAGE TO CALL THEM. DAYS AFTER FALLING NEAR HIS HOME IN BRADDOCK, SENATOR JOHN FETTERMAN IS OUT OF THE HOSPITAL. FETTERMAN POSTED THIS ON SOCIAL MEDIA, SAYING 20 STITCHES LATER AND A FULL RECOVERY, HE’S BACK HOME WITH HIS WIFE GISELLE AND HIS CHILDREN. HE SAYS HE IS OVERWHELMED AND GRATEFUL FOR THE WELL-WISHES. LOOKING AHEAD TO THIS WEEK, LAWMAKERS ARE EXPECTED TO VOTE ON THE RELEASE OF FILES RELATED TO JEFFREY EPSTEIN. OUR WASHINGTON CORRESPONDENT JACKIE DEFUSCO IS HERE WITH WHAT COMES NEXT. THIS WEEK, LAWMAKERS ARE EXPECTED TO VOTE ON THE RELEASE OF JUSTICE DEPARTMENT FILES RELATED TO THE SEX TRAFFICKING INVESTIGATION INTO JEFFREY EPSTEIN, A FOCUS THAT HAS FRUSTRATED PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP. THIS IS A HOAX PUT OUT BY THE DEMOCRAT AND A COUPLE OF REPUBLICANS HAVE GONE ALONG WITH IT BECAUSE THEY’RE WEAK AND INEFFECTIVE. BUT THIS IS A DEMOCRAT HOAX TO GET AWAY FROM THE FACT THAT THEY JUST LOST THE SHUTDOWN. FOUR REPUBLICANS SIDED WITH DEMOCRATS LAST WEEK ON A PETITION TO FORCE A VOTE ON THE EPSTEIN FILES TRANSPARENCY ACT. IF THAT SUPPORT HOLDS, THE BILL WOULD PASS IN THE HOUSE, BUT ITS FATE REMAINS UNCLEAR IN THE SENATE FOR NOW. THE WHITE HOUSE PREVIOUSLY PRESSURED REPUBLICAN LAWMAKERS NOT TO SUPPORT THE PUSH, AND THE PRESIDENT HAD A PUBLIC FALLING OUT WITH ONE LONGTIME ALLY OVER THE WEEKEND. ON SOCIAL MEDIA SATURDAY, HE CALLED CONGRESSWOMAN MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE A TRAITOR AND A DISGRACE TO THE PARTY, A FEUD SHE’S TYING TO HER FIGHT TO RELEASE. EPSTEIN FILES. IT COMES AFTER A SEPARATE DOCUMENT DUMP FROM LAWMAKERS LAST WEEK, INCLUDING A 2019 EMAIL IN WHICH EPSTEIN SUGGESTED THAT PRESIDENT TRUMP, QUOTE, KNEW ABOUT THE GIRLS. THE WHITE HOUSE SAYS THESE EMAILS SHOW THAT THE PRESIDENT DID NOTHING WRONG. HE HAS NOT BEEN ACCUSED OF SEXUAL MISCONDUCT BY EPSTEIN’S VICTIMS. IN WASHINGTON, I’M JACKIE DEFUSCO. PITTSBURGH’S ACTION NEWS FOUR. WELL, AS WE SPEAK, THE CITY OF PITTSBURGH’S CHRISTMAS TREE IS BEING DECORATED. IT’S A 40 FOOT NORWAY SPRUCE. IT COMES FROM LESLIE PARK AND LAWRENCEVILLE. WHERE YESTERDAY, CITY WORKERS CUT IT AND LOADED IT ONTO A TRUCK. IT WAS THEN TAKEN DOWNTOWN AND PUT IN PLACE AT THE CITY COUNTY BUILDING THERE ON GRANT STREET. THIS IS A TRADITION THAT DATES BACK TO 1915, AND ORNAMENTS THIS YEAR WILL INCLUDE ONE REPRESENTING EACH OF THE CITY’S 90 NEIGHBORHOODS. THAT’S GOING TO TAKE PLACE THROUGHOUT THE DAY. THEN THE TREE WILL BE LIT NEXT SATURDAY ON LIGHT UP NIGHT, AND BECAUSE OF THE TREE DECORATING, THERE IS A TRAFFIC NOTE TO PASS ALONG THE NORTHBOUND LANE OF GRANT STREET CLOSEST TO THE CITY. COUNTY BUILDIN
