Allegiant Air launched its first flight from Allentown, Pennsylvania, to Southwest Florida International Airport on Nov. 13, 2025. Flights from Appleton, Wisconsin, and Des Moines, Iowa, begin Nov. 21.

The three nonstop routes are new markets for RSW. Each will run twice weekly, according to the Lee County Port Authority. Travelers flying in and out of Fort Myers now have more choices.

“We want to extend Allegiant Air a warm welcome from Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW),” said Steven C. Hennigan, CEO of the Lee County Port Authority, according to Gulf Coast News.

LCPA and the airline announced plans for the service in July 2025. These flights mark a major expansion for the airport.

Travelers from the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic now have more access to Southwest Florida with these routes. RSW serves Fort Myers and the surrounding communities along the Gulf Coast.

This provides options for weekend getaways and longer stays. The service connects smaller markets that often rely on larger hub airports for trips to Florida destinations.
