Blustery Monday; Showers Return Tuesday In South Central Pennsylvania
Highs will stay below average, in the 40s, over the next 3 days
EMERGENCY SITUATIONS. BACK TO YOU. GOOD AFTERNOON. THE GOOD NEWS IS WE’RE NOT REALLY DOING WINTER WEATHER JUST YET IN THE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY. IT IS WINDY OUT THERE THAT WILL CONTINUE AS WE GO THROUGH THE DAY TODAY, AND THEN SOME RAIN AS WE GO INTO TOMORROW. FOR SOME PARTS OF THE AREA HERE, IT LOOKS LIKE THEY’LL BE MOSTLY SOUTH OF THE TURNPIKE. AS WE GO INTO YOUR WEDNESDAY, IT’S CLOUDY AND COOL DAY. HIGHS WILL BE IN THE 40S HERE THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS, AND PART BECAUSE WINDS ARE OUT OF THE NORTHWEST BRINGING COOLER AIR, AND YOU CAN SEE THE GUSTS HERE 23 MILE PER HOUR GUSTS IN DUNCANNON, 20 IN ELIZABETHTOWN, 37 MILE PER HOUR GUSTS IN LANCASTER AND 38 MILE PER HOUR GUSTS THERE. IN HARRISBURG, 23 IN CASHTOWN. SO IF YOU’RE TRYING TO FIND YOUR CAT, A TRASH CAN BECAUSE IT’S TRASH DAY, YOU WANT TO CHECK OUT YOUR NEIGHBOR’S YARD HERE BECAUSE OF THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS, IT’S GOING TO BE VERY WINDY ACROSS THE AREA. BUT NOTICE HOW IT GOES DOWN AS WE GO THROUGH THE EVENING AND OVERNIGHT HOURS. BY TOMORROW, GUSTS WILL BE AROUND 10 TO 15MPH. SO IF YOU HAVE TRASH DAY TOMORROW, THE GOOD NEWS IS THE TRASH CANS SHOULD STAY JUST WHERE IT SHOULD BE. BUT RIGHT NOW, STORM TEAM, LIVE RADAR NETWORK. IT’S QUIET SOUTH OF THE TURNPIKE, BUT WE DO HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF RAIN AND SNOW SHOWER MIXING UP IN PARTS OF NORTHEASTERN MIFFLIN AND JUNIATA COUNTY NEAR MCCLURE. THERE, ALONG 522 JUST OUTSIDE OF LEWISTOWN. LOOKS LIKE IT’S RIGHT ON THE RIDGE TOPS. WE’RE ACTUALLY SEEING IT HIT THE GROUND HERE. BUT NONETHELESS, IF YOU’RE TRAVELING ALONG 522 TODAY, JUST BE AWARE YOU MAY SEE A FEW RAIN DROPS AND SNOWFLAKES MIXING IN HERE BECAUSE OF THIS NORTHWESTERLY WIND THAT’S BRINGING THAT MOISTURE OFF THE LAKE, AND THAT’S HELPING TO BRING IN SOME OF THOSE MIXED SHOWERS THERE. BUT MOST OF THAT SHOULD STAY ALONG. AND NORTH OF I-80 AS WE GO THROUGH THE AFTERNOON HERE. SO HARRISBURG, YOU GOT THE CLOUD COVER. YOU GOT THE WIND. I THINK YOU’RE GOING TO STAY DRY, THOUGH AS WE GO THROUGH THE DAY TODAY. IT’S CURRENTLY 44 DEGREES IN THE CAPITAL. WINDS OUT OF THE NORTHWEST AROUND 20MPH. THAT’S ADDING A LITTLE BIT OF A CHILL FACTOR. IT FEELS LIKE 36 OUTSIDE RIGHT NOW AND THAT STICKS AROUND THROUGHOUT THE DAY TODAY. SO EVEN THOUGH TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE BOARD HERE, EXCEPT WITH THE EXCEPTION OF BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT, ARE IN THE 40S, IT FEELS LIKE THE 30S OUT THERE BECAUSE OF THAT WIND. AND AS I SAID, THAT CONTINUES AS WE GO THROUGH THE DAY TODAY. SO TEMPERATURES THEMSELVES ARE GOING TO PEAK RIGHT AROUND 46. BUT BECAUSE OF THAT WIND, YOU’RE GOING TO FEEL LIKE YOU’RE MORE CLOSER TO 35, 36 THROUGHOUT THE DAY TODAY. AND THOSE TEMPERATURES DROPPING INTO THE 30S OVERNIGHT TONIGHT, RIGHT AROUND THE FREEZING MARK ACROSS THE AREA, WHICH IS NEAR AVERAGE FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR, THOSE WINDS WILL ALSO CALM DOWN. WITH THAT MOSTLY CLEAR SKY. AND WE’LL SEE FOR YOUR TOMORROW BECOMES CLOUDY ONCE AGAIN DURING THE AFTERNOON WITH SOME SHOWERS MOVING IN ACROSS THE AREA TO ESPECIALLY AGAIN SOUTH OF THE TURNPIKE. HERE, SOME FLAKES MAY MIX IN FOR NORTHERN COUNTIES HERE, OTHERWISE WE’LL BE IN THE 40S. WILL BE TOO WARM FOR ANY WINTRY WEATHER SOUTH. BUT AS WE LOOK AT PREDICTOR HERE YOU CAN SEE WHAT I MEAN. WE GET THE CLEARING SKIES AS WE GO THROUGH THE NIGHT TONIGHT AND ACROSS THE AREA HERE, HIGH PRESSURE COMES IN FOR A SHORT PERIOD. THOSE CLOUDS BEGIN TO RETURN TOMORROW MORNING AND AFTERNOON. A LITTLE BIT OF HIGH ELEVATION MIX TRYING TO MIX IN THERE. IT LOOKS LIKE PARTS OF FRANKLIN COUNTY RIGHT AROUND ONE 2:00 HERE. AND THEN DURING THE EVENING, THERE’S WHERE WE GET MOST OF THE PRECIPITATION AGAIN SOUTH OF THE TURNPIKE IS THE BEST BET, BUT YOU CAN SEE A LITTLE BIT OF THAT MIXING UP IN THE NORTHERN COUNTIES HERE ALONG THE RIDGE TOPS. WE MAY GET A LITTLE BIT OF COOLER TEMPERATURES, SO THAT CAN HELP TRANSITION OVER TO THAT. MIXING A LITTLE BIT HERE. THIS ALL MOVES OUT THOUGH BY WEDNESDAY MORNING. SO NO ISSUES FOR THE WEDNESDAY MORNING COMMUTE. THAT’S GOOD NEWS. BUT IT WILL BE COOLER ACROSS THE AREA HERE. WHEN WE LOOK AT TEMPERATURES, THEY’RE ONLY GOING TO PEAK IN THE 40S HERE THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS. SO LEAF CLEANUP. DEFINITELY NOT A GOOD DAY TODAY BECAUSE OF THE WIND. MAYBE TOMORROW AND WEDNESDAY THOUGH BECAUSE IT WILL BE A LITTLE BIT CALMER ACROSS THE AREA. WHEN WE LOOK AT YOUR TEN DAY FORECAST, IF YOU DON’T WANT TO DEAL WITH THE 40S, WELL, WE GET THE 50S BACK ON THURSDAY AND THEN 56 ACTUALLY FRIDAY. BUT THAT’S OUR NEXT CHANCE FOR SOME SHOWERS. LOOKS LIKE FOR THE WEEKEND. SUNDAY IS GOING TO BE THE DRIER THE TWO DAYS HERE. AND THEN WE’RE IN THE 50S A
