Weis Markets announced Monday that it presented Helping Harvest Food Bank with a $20,000 contribution.

The donation was awarded to the nonprofit in Spring Township during check presentation events throughout the month as part of the company’s 18th annual Fight Hunger program. These donations included customer and associate contributions made at checkouts in Weis Markets stores throughout 2025, as well as a substantial corporate donation.

“Each year, we’re amazed by the incredible support our customers and associates show for our Fight Hunger campaign,” said Weis Markets Chief Operations Officer Bob Gleeson. “This is a combined customer and company donation. We deeply appreciate our Weis team and shoppers for coming together to make a difference.”

Gleeson said contributions like this are more important than ever given the current climate.

“No family should have to worry about when their next meal will be, and food banks play a vital role in helping us address food insecurity in our local communities,” he said. “We’re proud to support our regional food banks to help close the gap for many families, so they do not need to choose between food and other essentials.”

This year’s Fight Hunger program raised a total of $555,000 for 18 partner food banks within its seven-state market area.
