The University of Scranton hosted its second annual Data Science Day on Thursday for high school students learning about the multidisciplinary field of data science. Thirty-five students from Abington Heights, Carbondale Area, Holy Cross, Mid Valley and Scranton Prep took part. The event included a contest, data-processing tutorials, a luncheon and an address from Stephen Sorokanich, a Quantum Fellow at Air Force Research Laboratory. The participants also had the opportunity to meet with U of S students who are majoring in computer science and mathematics fields.
