BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — Residents with the average home assessment will pay nearly $100 more in taxes under the final 2025-2026 school budget approved recently by the Bensalem Township School Board.

The school board approved a 2.4 percent tax hike in its final $188.36 million school budget at a special meeting on June 30, the final date for school districts in the state to approve their budgets.

The state’s Act 1 Index this year was 4 percent.

Residents will pay $98 more in taxes on the average home assessment. Residents who applied for and received the homestead allocation would pay $54, school officials said.

Meanwhile, the school board approved an increase of $150 to its Senior Citizens tax rebate, and an additional income level ($20,001 – $22,500) was also added.

Each year, seniors are notified that their claim must be filed by June 30 for taxes due and paid in the previous year.
