Warren, PA – The City of Warren is preparing for more winter weather as snow moves into the region.

The city’s Department of Public Works has started the process of switching vehicles from fall leaf-pickup equipment to snowplows so crews can stay ahead of the weather.

Officials are also reminding residents and visitors to follow the city’s on-street parking rules. Warren follows an even-odd parking system, which helps plow crews access the streets and clear them properly.

Joe Reinke, City of Warren Superintendent of Public Works said they’re already gearing up for what looks like an early start to the season.

“This is our second snowfall of the year already,” Reinke said. “It’s a bit early and kind of jumping the gun on winter here, I don’t think it will last too long, as we are only about half way done with our leafing here for the year. But we have three trucks up and running already. Currently the plan is to not have to break down all of our leaf trucks to start snow operations, we’re going to hopefully keep leaving until the holidays. But we will just have to see what the weather allows us to do, however we’re ready for the snow, whenever it comes.”

City officials say they will continue monitoring conditions as more winter weather moves in.
