Drying out and warming up!
WASHINGTON. OUR TIME RIGHT NOW IS 719. TIME TO CHECK BACK WITH OUR CHIEF METEOROLOGIST, MIKE HARVEY, WHO OFFERED US JUST A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING TODAY. YEAH, WE HAD SOME SLEET, A LITTLE BIT OF SNOW, A LOT OF RAIN AND A LOT MORE RAIN ON THE WAY INTO TOWN. LET’S TAKE A LOOK AT IT. PRECIPITATION WISE, WE HAVE SCATTERED RAIN SHOWERS RIGHT NOW, BUT IN THE NEXT HOUR OR TWO WE’RE GOING TO HAVE WIDESPREAD RAIN. AND WE ARE GOING TO HAVE PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN THAT WILL BE MOVING THROUGH. AS FAR AS THE TIMING, THIS IS GOING TO LAST THROUGH AT LEAST 11:00, MAYBE MIDNIGHT, 1:00 IN THE MORNING. THE GOOD NEWS TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO BE ABOVE FREEZING. LOW TEMPERATURE IN PITTSBURGH 34 DEGREES. AND THAT WON’T HAPPEN UNTIL THE MORNING HOURS. SO THIS WILL BE PRIMARILY RAIN MOVING THROUGH THE AREA, THE LAUREL HIGHLANDS. OF COURSE YOU CAN SEE A LITTLE BIT OF A WINTRY MIX IN THOSE LOCATIONS. TEMPERATURES IN THE 30S RIGHT NOW REALLY NOT GOING TO DROP OFF MUCH. AND YOU CAN SEE THE RAIN SET TO MOVE IN AND YOU SEE THE HEAVY RAIN SET TO MOVE IN AS WELL AS YOU WIDEN OUT THE SHOT. HERE YOU CAN SEE THE HEAVIEST OF THE RAIN ACTUALLY GOING SOUTH INTO WEST VIRGINIA, BUT WE’LL SEE SOME PRETTY SIGNIFICANT RAIN THAT WILL PUSH THROUGH OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS. THAT WILL MOVE OUT EARLY IN THE MORNING, 49 DEGREES FOR YOUR HIGH ON WEDNESDAY WILL STAY DRY ALL DAY WEDNESDAY AND ALL DAY ON THURSDAY. AND WE WILL IMPROVE THE TEMPERATURES TO 52 AND THEN 55 DEGREES ON FRIDAY. NOW FRIDAY WE HAVE A CHANCE FOR SHOWERS, BUT AT THIS POINT, IT LOOKS LIKE A LOT OF THOSE SHOWERS ARE GOING TO BE FROM PITTSBURGH DOWN TO THE SOUTH. FURTHER NORTH, YOU ARE A BETTER CHANCE YOU’RE GOING TO HAVE STAYING COMPLETELY DRY. THEN ON SATURDAY WE DRY IT OUT ONCE AGAIN 52 DEGREES FOR YOUR HIGH AND SUNDAY PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES AND 54. AND WE KEEP IT IN THE 50S RIGHT THROUGH NEXT WEEK WITH A CHANCE OF SOME SHOWERS ON WEDNESDAY. SO AS WE GO THROUGH TONIGHT, HERE’S THE RAIN MOVING THROUGH THAT WILL GET ON OUT OF HERE. AND WE’LL HEAD INTO TOMORROW. MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES TO START. CLOUDS WILL BREAK A BIT AS WE GO THROUGH THE DAY. ON WEDNESDAY. WE GO INTO THURSDAY. A LOT OF CLOUDS ON THURSDAY, BUT IT WILL BE DRY ALL DAY LONG AS YOU CAN SEE. AND THEN WE TAKE IT INTO FRIDAY WHERE WE WILL HAVE DRY CONDITIONS FOR THE FIRST HALF OF THE DAY, AND THEN WE’LL HAVE A CHANCE OF SOME SHOWERS MOVING IN AGAIN. MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES ON FRIDAY. TEMPERATURE WISE, WE’RE GOING TO BE SEEING TEMPERATURES TOMORROW THAT WILL BE MAKING IT INTO THE 40S. SO MUCH WARMER THAN WE SAW OUT THERE TODAY AND ARE SEEING RIGHT NOW AS WE GO INTO WEDNESDAY. 49 DEGREES FOR YOUR HIGH IN PITTSBURGH, THURSDA
