ALLENTOWN, Pa. – A special delivery is happening in Allentown Wednesday.

Nearly 1400 coats collected during the 11th annual WFMZ and Lehigh Valley Phantoms coat drive are getting dropped off at the Salvation Army.

1,363 coats were donated at the PPL Center. More were donated and taken to a remote drop site in Bethlehem.

People donated new or gently used coats at the PPL Center in Allentown last Friday. People also dropped them off at collection bins around Allentown and at the Steel Ice Center in Bethlehem.

Our Community Care team, led by anchor Melanie Falcon and Traffic Reporter Jen Dilliard, ensure that everyone at the station in front of the camera, and behind it, can contribute.

All donations will go to various Salvation Army programs. The coats will be distributed by the Salvation Army on Dec. 3.
