Sorry to see the passing of Corry’s Monsignor Casimir Bogniak, who earned his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Gannon College in 1951 while in formation for the priesthood at Saint Mark Seminary, Erie. After completing his formation for the priesthood at Saint Mary Seminary, Baltimore, Md., Monsignor was ordained on May 30, 1957, by Bishop Edward Peter McManaman. On May 13, 1984, he was honored with the title of “Monsignor.” He began his priestly ministry as a Parochial Vicar for the parishes of Saint Catherine, DuBois; Our Lady of Peace, Erie; and Saint Peter Cathedral, Erie. He was in Corry and at St. Thomas Church after finishing at St. Mark’s Seminary.
