Holy Cross graduate Kaci Kranson, Elizabeth Bennett and Meghan Lamanna each scored 15 points to lead the University of Scranton women’s basketball team to a 71-48 victory over Drew University in the Landmark Conference opener for both teams Wednesday at Baldwin Gym in Madison, N.J.

Katie Gorski added 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Royals, who played their first game since upsetting Division I Pittsburgh, 69-63, on Sunday.

Alice Altomare led Drew with 15 points.

Scranton faces Goucher on Saturday at 4 p.m. in its home opener.

Men’s basketball

Valley View graduate Eli Yusavage scored 27 points to lead Drew to a 79-76 overtime victory over Scranton in their Landmark Conference opener Wednesday at the John Long Center.

Sammy Tornabene led the Royals with 18 points, Brendan Carr added 14 points, Abington Heights graduate Will Marion and Ben Robinson each had 10 points and Jon Spatola had nine points and 10 rebounds.

Scranton hosts Goucher on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Marywood 91, Hartwick 72: At Insalaco Arena, Michel Loftin recorded his fourth straight 20-plus point game, scoring 21 points and grabbing eight rebounds, to lead the Pacers.

Joe Macciocco added 17 points, Shilo Bivins tacked on 15 points and Andrew Quinn chipped in 14 points for Marywood.

Mike Gitz had 16 points to lead Hartwick.

The Pacers host Rosemont College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
