On Nov. 19, at the Wesleyville Borough Hall, a town hall meeting was held to inform community members that the fire department will no longer be operating an ambulance service.

Wesleyville Fire Chief John Wiercinski wants to get the word out—the department needs help, and they need it now.

In September, the Wesleyville Hose Company voted to discontinue Basic Life Support ambulance service operations and transition to a Quick Response Service model for EMS calls.

Mayor of Wesleyville Paul Johnson is urging residents to remain calm and hopes that some will step up and volunteer.

If you’d like to help out Wesleyville Borough and volunteer with the Hose Company, you can do so by either calling (814) 899-6704 or emailing fire@wesleyville.gov or firechief@wesleyville.gov.
