The Berks County coroner’s office was called to an accident in Leesport Thursday afternoon, according to emergency reports.
The accident was reported about 2 p.m. at Peach Street and South Centre Avenue. One man was trapped and unresponsive in a vehicle that had crashed into a pole.
Police called to the scene said the man’s foot was stuck on the gas pedal, according to reports.
The doors of the vehicle were locked and additional personnel were called in to open them.
The coroner’s office was called to the scene a few minutes after the initial call.
