Governor Josh Shapiro recently created a Facebook post addressing the president’s call for violence on the afternoon of Nov. 20.
In his post he stated that President Donald Trump reportedly issued calls for violence this morning targeting duly elected members of Congress, specifically including Pennsylvania Representatives Chrissy Houlahan and Chris Deluzio—both who have served honorably.
The message from Shapiro criticized Trump for neglecting his leadership responsibilities and for actively inciting political violence, which increases threats to lawmakers and worsens national divisions.
It also condemns his supporters who selectively denounce extreme rhetoric when politically convenient but stay silent now.
“There should be no place for this violent rhetoric from our political leaders, and it shouldn’t be hard to say that.” stated Shapiro.
