HELLERTOWN, Pa. – Some musically inclined students in the Hellertown area were in for a real treat on Thursday.

Two Saucon Valley High School alumni were added to the school’s Wall of Fame. Both are big deals in the music industry.

Ryan O’Connell, class of 2007, now serves as Disneyland Resort’s music director in California. He’s also composed music for Netflix and other major networks.

Scott Sheriff, class of 1985, now plays keyboard and provides vocals for Carrie Underwood.

Both thanked the school for laying the groundwork early on in their musical lives.

“Whether it’s for Carrie’s music or music I go out and perform as a solo performer or with other bands,” Sheriff said, “it just kind of all germinated here at Saucon Valley through their extended curriculum that kind of showed me there was no boundaries to what I could learn or get involved with.”

Ahead of the assembly, Scott Sheriff also visited classrooms and answered students’ questions. You can find that full story here.
