Joseph R. Coleman
January 17, 1963 – November 20, 2025
Joseph R. Coleman, 62, of Valencia, PA, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025.  Born on January 17, 1963, on the South Side of Pittsburgh.  Joe is survived by his devoted wife Lori (Switalski) Coleman.  Joe was the son of Mary (Guzik) and the late Fred Coleman, Son in Law of Betty (Senge) and the late Philip Switalski.  Proud father of Joseph K. Coleman (Jessica), Hannah Coleman and the late Jacqueline Coleman.  Stepfather of Troy O’Leary (Katie Sinclair) and Brooke West (Russell).  Grandfather of Taylor Weiss and Chole Coleman.  Brother of Jan Ketter (late Gary) and Brother-in-Law of Brian Switalski (Debra), Susan Vincent (Edward) and Eric Switalski.  Uncle to his cherished nieces Gillian Switalski and Kiersten Oliver Ketter (Austin) and nephews Dr. George Campbell, Jim Campbell, Noah Vincent, Matthew Switalski, Sam Ketter (Maria) and great nephews Branson Campbell and Malcolm Oliver. As well as many close friends and extended family. Lastly Teddie, his furry little girl who gave him so much comfort over the last few years.
Â
Joe graduated from South Side Catholic High School and worked as a butcher for over 30 years having owned his own butcher shop in Sharpsburg and eventually retired from Giant Eagle Market District.  He was a dedicated husband to Lori and loved the life they had built together.  He enjoyed life with his family and friends and always had fun and made sure everyone around him did too.  He also enjoyed travelling, hunting, fishing and singing to most genres of music but his favorite was southern rock.  He was forever the salesman and loved making a sales pitch or a deal.  Joe’s favorite quotes: It’s a small world, but I wouldn’t want to paint it, and Life is like a box of chocolates you never know what you are going to get.
Â
Joe is as free as a bird now and his warmth, love of life, generosity, and especially sense of humor will be greatly missed. Â He will live forever in our hearts.Â
