BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A new website introduced by Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz and other officials will predict incoming winter storms in the area and on the Thruway.
Based on the National Weather Service storm scale and produced by a team at University of Albany, the site will predict where a storm is expected to be, the severity of the storm in any given town, and the amount of snow expected to fall.
Predictions will be illustrated two days ahead of time in six hour increments with gray to purple ranging from average winter weather to extreme winter weather.
