READING, Pa. – Christmas on the Mountain is almost back for its 34th, and possibly last, season.

The popular holiday attraction starts next week.

But organizers say upcoming renovations to the Hillside Pool could reduce the size and change the future of the site.

Those involved with putting the event together thanked both the city and mayor’s office for their ongoing support and say Christmas on the Mountain will still run bigger and brighter than ever this year.

Reading Mayor Eddie Moran issued the following statement:

“Christmas on the Mountain is a beloved Reading tradition, and we’re excited for another magical season. The City is a proud partner in providing the space to make sure this annual tradition continues for many years to come.

Significant federal grant funding will allow us to make improvements to Hillside Park that everyone will benefit from and that will make Christmas on the Mountain even more enjoyable for visitors, neighbors and families for generations to come. We look forward to working with the organizers to keep this cherished tradition bright for our entire community.”

Christmas on the Mountain begins next Friday at Reading’s Hillside Playground, starting at 5 p.m., and is open daily through December 23rd.
