Bensalem police are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident on Friday evening in the township’s Trevose section that left an elderly man dead.
Police responded to Brownsville Road near Oak Avenue shortly before 6:30 p.m. Nov. 21, where they found 84-year-old Martin Thompson, of Oak Avenue, in the road with significant head injuries and no signs of life, according to a police press release Friday night.
Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene. The unidentified driver who struck him remained on scene, police said.

Bensalem police report a pedestrian was struck on Brownsville Road in the township’s Trevose section on Friday Nov. 21, 2025.
A preliminary investigation suggests a second vehicle was turning left from Oak Avenue onto southbound Brownsville Road and obstructed the view of the driver of a dark blue Porsche northbound on Brownsville Road, according to the release.
The Porsche driver did not see Thompson, who was crossing Brownsville Road mid-block, and struck him in the northbound lane, police said.
There was no indication the driver of the striking vehicle was under the influence of drugs or alcohol and speed does not appear to be a factor, police said.
Bensalem Police ask anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant video footage to contact the department at 215-633-3719.
