WASHINGTON (TNND) — A public address system at the Harrisburg International Airport was hacked on Tuesday and broadcasted a 10 minute message.
The hacker who came over the system was heard saying “F*** Netanyahu and Trump” and “Free Palestine,” according to WHP.
The unauthorized user said “Turkish hacker Cyber Islam was here.”
The airport said that the political message didn’t demonstrate any threats to airlines or individuals on the planes.
U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy addressed the recordings in a post Wednesday evening on social media platform X, calling the incident “absolutely unacceptable” and said it “understandably scared travelers”.
Duffy said he and the Federal Aviation Administration are working with HIA to “get to the bottom of this hack.”
When the message was broadcasted, there was a Delta flight that was boarding that had to be searched just to be safe, the airline told Fox News Digital.
“As the safety and security of our customers and employees comes before all else, Delta followed the direction of TSA to return to the gate and complete a security check of the aircraft,” a Delta spokesperson told the news outlet. “We appreciate our customers’ patience and cooperation.”
The incident comes one day after the peace deal between Israel and Hamas started with the 20 living hostages released.
Hundreds of Palestinian prisoners were also released by Israel.
The war started in 2023 after Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel, killing 1,200 people and taking several people hostage.
Over 65,000 Palestinians have been killed since the start of the war and a majority of the Gaza Strip has been destroyed.
