SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — On Saturday, the Santa Parade drew a big crowd to downtown Scranton. It was filled with music, floats, and Santa himself.
Nearly 1,500 marchers and more than 100 vehicles filled city streets to drum up crowd excitement for the Christmas season.
Families flocked to the center city to take in the fun. Some checked out the Santa Parade for the first time, while others made it an annual tradition.
“I just recently moved to Scranton, but yeah, this is like my second year doing it, and we’re enjoying it. We love it. This is his first time,” Scranton resident Brea Hampton stated.

“First time?” 28/22 News Reporter John Lopez asked.
“Yeah,” Hampton replies.
“It’s something that me and my family take very deeply, like, in our traditions, and it’s always nice to get together with family, spend time, and just have fun,” Jamaal Scotton from Olyphant said.
Fun is certainly something there was no shortage of at the 31st Santa Parade in Scranton.
