Giovani Newsuan is a ten year old heart patient from Erie County with a lot of faith and determination.
He’s home after being hospitalized nearly three months in Pittsburgh.
Family and friends hosted a Gio Strong benefit that packed Perry Hi-Way Hose Company.
It was a 21 and over event raising money to help lower the costs of Gio’s medical care.
There were auctions, raffles, music and more.
Just before school started, an infection attacked Gio’s heart. He had two surgeries at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, so the support was special.
Gio’s latest heart surgeries come on top of several others, because he was born with a rare congenital heart defect. The Gio Strong benefit started at 2:00 p.m. and went until 9:00 pm.
