A 29-year-old Allentown man was killed Friday night after being hit by a car, according to police.
City Police Capt. Christopher Diehl said officers responded just before 8 p.m. Nov. 21, to the 2400 block of South Fourth Street. Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said the victim was struck and run over by a vehicle.
The circumstances leading to the crash remain unclear.
The victim was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Salisbury Township, where he was pronounced dead at 8:43 p.m. Friday.
The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office is withholding the identity of the deceased until an autopsy is completed on Monday.
The incident remains under investigation by the Allentown Police Department, Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office and Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.
