The City of Allentown will bring back its signature holiday display for a 29th consecutive year when Lights in the Parkway opens Nov. 28, offering families more than a mile of illuminated holiday scenes through Jan. 6.

The drive-through attraction in Lehigh Parkway will feature over 200,000 energy-efficient LED lights arranged in displays that include twinkling tunnels, animated scenes and festive tree-lined paths. The event runs nightly from 5:30 to 10 p.m., with closures on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

This year’s event includes an expanded schedule for Move It Mondays, when the parkway closes to vehicles and opens to pedestrians and cyclists. Visitors can walk or bike through the displays on Dec. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, as well as Jan. 5. The city added a final walking day on Tuesday, Jan. 6, to close out the season.

The 2025 season will showcase partnerships with local organizations to celebrate diverse holiday traditions including Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa and Three Kings Day. Organizers are also developing new themed experiences such as a Polar Express Night and a Frozen-themed children’s night.

Tickets cost $14 per car during an early bird sale running Oct. 15-31, with regular pricing of $16 per car beginning Nov. 1. Commercial vehicles including vans, minibuses and limousines under 14 feet cost $24 during early bird sales and $26 at regular prices.

All tickets must be purchased online at allentownpa.gov/LITP, as no on-site sales will be available. Online processing fees apply to all purchases.

Visitors should enter the display from Martin Luther King Jr. Drive onto Lehigh Parkway East and follow wayfinding signs posted throughout the city. Additional details and maps are available on the city’s website.
