ALLENTOWN, Pa. – More kids will get to enjoy playing longer hours at an Allentown park that recently got a facelift.

The ribbon was cut Tuesday at Jordan Meadows located at American Parkway & Gordon St., in Allentown.

It recently received major upgrades, with what’s called a mini-pitch system.

The system offers better lighting, improved fencing, benches, and access for those who are disabled.

“There’s a total of $131,000 invested, so we’re hopeful that we can find other places to build new mini pitches across the city. It’s a smart investment. It’s an investment that encourages activities across our city among young people,” said Allentown Mayor Matt Tuerk.

The grand opening comes ahead of summer break.
