DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — The City of Dothan is notifying drivers of a traffic change at a busy westside intersection beginning Tuesday.
The Public Works Department’s Traffic Engineering Division will install a four-way stop at the intersection of Murphy Mill Road and Bethlehem Road on Nov. 25. New stop signs will also be placed along Bethlehem Road and Old Campbellton Highway to help drivers adjust to the modified traffic pattern.
Portable message boards and temporary rumble strips will be used to alert motorists to the new setup. The city has also added street lighting in the area to improve visibility and overall safety.
City officials say the upgrades are needed to accommodate growth and reduce crash risks at the intersection.
Drivers are urged to use caution in the area while getting used to the changes.
