DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– An inmate at a Pennsylvania State Correctional Institution who was serving a sentence for crimes committed in Dauphin County has died after being found unresponsive in his cell last week.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, Frederick Hall, 42, was found unresponsive in his cell at SCI Fayette on Tuesday, November 18.
Prison staff provided life-saving measures until the facility’s medical personnel arrived. The Department of Corrections said Brownsville EMS arrived and provided advanced life-saving measures before transporting him to UPMC Presbyterian.

Hall was pronounced deceased on November 22 at 4:03 p.m.
The Department of Corrections said Hall was serving a 5-to-11-year sentence for Possession of a Firearm Prohibited in Dauphin County. He had arrived at SCI Fayette in September 2025.
The Pennsylvania State Police are conducting an investigation. The official cause of death is currently unknown.
