UPPER NAZARETH TWP., Pa. – A long-vacant barroom in Northampton County is no more.

Tuesday morning, demolition crews began the task of knocking down the former Ranch House Bar and Grill at 373 East Lawn Road in Upper Nazareth Township.

By lunchtime, the building was gone, and large piles of debris were all that remained on the site.

The Ranch House closed two decades ago. Complaints about the condition of the deteriorating building have been mounting over the years.

Last year, plans to build a new, three-story building on the half-acre site won the approval of the Upper Nazareth Township Planning Commission and its Board of Supervisors. Those plans called for retail space on the basement and first floor levels and up to seven apartments on the second and third floors.

Lehighvalleylive previously reported that the developer, Endeavor Enterprise LLC, intended for the one-bedroom apartments to be handicapped-accessible and earmarked for veterans.

Northampton County property records show Endeavor sold the property to a different LLC- MMA Real Estate Investment Holdings- in October for $645,000.

Upper Nazareth Township Board Chair Scott Sylvainus told 69 News the new owner is developing the property based on the approved plans and conditions of the previous owner. Â
