BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — With the Fourth of July approaching, the Bensalem Township Police and Fire departments are stressing safety if residents light fireworks to celebrate the holiday.
Bensalem Police said residents should be reminded of the importance of fireworks safety and compliance with Pennsylvania state laws and local township ordinances.
Police have listed key fireworks safety rules. They include:
Fireworks must be used at least 150 feet away from any occupied structure.Fireworks cannot be used on public property, including streets and parks.Fireworks are not allowed on private property without the owner’s permission.Illegal fireworks and unsafe usage will not be tolerated.
Bensalem Township Fire Inspectors and Police Officers will be out in the community this holiday weekend actively enforcing all state laws and township ordinances related to fireworks.
“Let’s keep our neighborhoods safe and our celebrations injury-free,” police said.
