HANOVER TWP., Pa. – The Hanover Township, Northampton County Board of Supervisors recognized a board member for his decades of service.

Supervisor John Diacogiannis received a proclamation honoring him prior to his pending retirement after 41 years at Tuesday night’s meeting at the township building.

Diacogiannis began on the board in January 1985. During his tenure he served as vice chairman from 2003 through 2005, and as chairman from 2006 through 2021, and 2023. Prior to his position as a supervisor, he served on the township’s planning commission from 1979 through 1984.

In his role as a supervisor, Diacogiannis served on the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission, Colonial Regional Police Commission, and represented the township as a Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors delegate.

The Hanover Township Board of Supervisors announced that the road leading to the township’s municipal complex will be named “Diacogiannis Drive” in honor of John Diacogiannis.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Moravian College in 1971 and a master’s degree from Lehigh University in 1972. His professional career was spent in the finance and risk management sectors. Diacogiannis has lived in Hanover Township since 1973.
