ALLENTOWN, Pa. – One of five people charged in a 2024 fatal shooting at an Allentown park has learned his sentence.
20-year-old Carlos Landesta-Agramonte of Allentown pleaded guilty in September to third-degree murder and conspiracy. On Monday, he was sentenced to 20-
40 years in state prison.
Four others have also been charged in the June 1, 2024 killing that occurred at Fountain Park on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
25-year-old Angel Martinez-Velez of Allentown was shot numerous times while playing basketball at the park and his death was ruled a homicide.
Other defendants charged in this case include Alfeni Romero-Taveras, Joel Garcia Paulino and Wilmer Esquiel Marte-Tavarez, who are all awaiting trial.
Grelvis Estevez Cabrera was convicted by a jury last month of all charges and faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison at his sentencing scheduled for January 13.
