An Erie teacher has been placed on leave after being charged with viewing child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
According to the Erie Times News, 24-year-old Tyler Grant Funk is facing two third-degree felony counts of viewing child pornography on another person’s phone.

He was charged on November 5 after investigators interviewed him at his home.

Funk taught alternative education classes to 7th and 8th-grade students at Erie’s Public Schools’ Patrick J. Dipaolo Student Success Center at Emerson-Gridley.

The school district confirmed Funk is on leave.
The Erie Police Department said Funk was released by court order on a $50,000 unsecured bond agreement.
He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on December 16.
