ALLENTOWN, Pa. – People here and across the country gathered around the dinner table today giving thanks.
But not everyone is able to eat with friends or relatives, so local organizations are stepping up to the plate by giving out hot plates.
The Lehigh Conference of Churches on West Allen Street in Allentown offered a Thanksgiving meal to anyone in need today.
Those who showed up got to eat turkey and all the fixings.
“These people don’t have anywhere to go and with all of the SNAP stuff that’s been going on and the government and stuff, it’s the best way to help in any way that we can,” says Chris Clayton, Executive Chef.
Chef Clayton says this year he tried something different.
He deep-fried the turkey.
