North Pocono started fast and rolled to a 64-22 win over Wyoming Area in the James Akens Tournament girls basketball semifinals Friday at North Pocono.

Anna Clementoni scored 14 points as the Lady Trojans, ranked No. 4 in the Times-Tribune preseason Top 10 poll, gave coach Joe Ferguson a victory in his return as the team’s coach. He spent three seasons as an assistant coach with the boys team from 1995-99, then coached the girls team from 1999-2004.

Alexis Silva added 10 points, Ella Clementoni and Kayli McHugh each had nine points and Julia Biko finished with eight for a balanced North Pocono attack.

McHugh hit two 3-pointers and Silva had five points in the first quarter as the Lady Trojans burst to a 16-2 advantage.

Jailynn Park hit three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and wound up with 12 points to lead Wyoming Area.

In the Akens final, North Pocono will face Honesdale on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.

Honesdale 39, Montrose 29: At North Pocono, Honesdale used a second-half surge to break a halftime tie and defeat Montrose in the semifinals of the James Akens Tournament.

Lily Murray led the No. 8 Lady Hornets with 15 points. Ruby Martin added 11 points, nine of which came in the third quarter.

Lily Bush scored nine points for Montrose. McKenna Kublo and Sadie Jones had eight points apiece. The Lady Meteors play Wyoming Area in the consolation game Saturday at 2 p.m.

Mountain View 43, Western Wayne 36: At Mountain View, Addison Kilmer poured in 34 points to lead the host Lady Eagles past Western Wayne in the Lambert-Simons Tipoff Classic semifinals.

Kilmer, an all-state selection and East Stroudsburg University commit, hit eight field goals — four of which were 3-pointers — and was 14 for 17 from the foul line. She scored eight points in the first quarter, seven in the second and third quarters and 12 in the fourth.

Khloe Mistishin led Western Wayne with 10 points.

Mountain View, ranked No. 7 in the Times-Tribune preseason Top 10, gets Nanticoke in the tournament final Saturday. Nanticoke advanced with a 59-34 win over Union-Endicott, N.Y., in the other semifinal. Naveah Baron led the Trojanettes with 21 points, while Kate Reed hit five 3-pointers and finished with 18 points.

Holy Redeemer 23, Riverside 19: At Holy Redeemer, Tessa Cegelka sealed the victory with two free throws with 21 seconds left as the Lady Royals held off Riverside in the Doreen S. Dougherty Memorial Scholarship Tipoff Tournament semifinals.

McKenzie Chimock had nine points, and Bella Boylan and Gillian Parsons each had five points for Holy Redeemer.

Faith Pavalonis and Cassidy Merrifield combined for all 19 Riverside points. Pavalonis led all scorers with 10 points.

Holy Redeemer faces Whitehall in Saturday’s final. Whitehall beat West Scranton in the other semifinal, 42-36.

Stroudsburg 44, Carbondale Area 32: At Wallenpaupack, a slow start doomed Carbondale Area in the semifinals of the Lake Region Tipoff Tournament. Stroudsburg built a 15-point first-quarter lead to spoil Mike Courtright’s debut as Carbondale Area coach..

Alexis Nykaza led the Chargerettes with 12 points and Gabriella Granville followed with 11 points.

Teagan Strunk scored 14 points and Adriana Borzio added 13 for Stroudsburg, which plays the winner of the other semifinal between East Stroudsburg North and Wallenpaupack in the final Saturday.
