Eagles front office executive Dave Caldwell is reportedly leaving Philadelphia to be the Florida Gators next general manager.
The University of Florida is “finalizing a deal” with Caldwell, Pete Nakos of On3Sports first reported on Sunday afternoon.
Caldwell, 51, is the former general manager of the Jacksonville Jaguars who joined the Eagles’ front office as a personnel executive in 2021. He is in his fifth season with the Eagles and has held the tile of senior personnel director/advisor to the general manager since 2022.
The Eagles have two others in the organization with the same title as Caldwell. The team hired former Broncos VP of player personnel Matt Russell in 2022 and brought back former Jets general manager Joe Douglas earlier this year.
Caldwell was the Jaguars’ general manager from 2013-2020. Caldwell was fired by the Jaguars in November of 2020 and joined the Eagles the next year.
In his second stint as Eagles general manager, Howie Roseman has clearly valued having experienced personnel decision-makers on his staff and is constantly trying to replenish the front office.
This time, Roseman will lose Caldwell to his alma mater.
