(WJET/WFXP) — Erie’s Public Schools is seeking community input on the proposal to rename Harding Elementary School.

The Erie School Board is hosting an information session to outline and share details of the proposal to rename the school in honor of Colonel John Boyd.

Boyd was an alumnus of Harding Elementary School and Strong Vincent School and became a decorated U.S. Air Force Officer and an authoritative strategist.

While no decision has been made, the community is invited to attend the session and provide feedback. Those interested can serve on the Naming Review Committee, which will examine the proposal and gather community input.

The information session is slated for Thursday, December 4, at 6 p.m. at the Harding Elementary School auditorium at 820 Lincoln Ave.
