Barbara Ann Hassler
OBITUARY
Barbara Ann Hassler, 87, of Blandon, passed away peacefully at home on November 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted widow of Thomas Wilson Hassler, who predeceased her in 2024.
Born in Reading, Barbara was the daughter of Thaddeus and Amelia Wisniewski. A 1956 graduate of Central Catholic, Barbara served as the tax collector for Maidencreek Township for 24 years until her retirement four years ago. Her dedication to her work earned her the respect of all who knew her.
Barbara was an accomplished cook, and she will be fondly remembered for all of the special holiday dishes that brought her family together year after year. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to partake.
She is survived by four children: Kathleen Whitman of Blandon, William Houston, Jr. and his partner Cheryl Chlebowski of Fleetwood, Theodore Houston and his wife Sherry of Clearwater, FL, and Susan Kohl of Gouglersville. Barbara was also a loving grandmother and great-grandmother to many, whose lives she touched with her kindness and love.She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 11:00 am at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, 5153 Kutztown Rd, Temple, PA 19526. The family will receive friends and relatives from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
