PITTSBURGH, PA — Counselors and service support members will be on hand in a Pittsburgh-area school district this week after a tenth-grade student died on Thanksgiving.

The Penn Hills School District announced the death of Victor Adeleke on social media.

“Our entire school community is heartbroken by this tragic loss,” a district Facebook post stated.

“We extend our deepest condolences to Victor’s family, friends, classmates and all who knew and cared for him. Losing a young member of our community is an unimaginable pain, and we grieve together as a district.

“Please keep Victor’s family in your thoughts as they navigate this incredibly difficult time.”

The district did not provide specifics on how Victor died.

Information on funeral arrangements was not immediately available on Monday.

Counselors will be on hand Tuesday when classes resume after the holiday break.
