PITTSBURGH, PA — An award-winning Pittsburgh pizza chain is putting the finishing touches on a new restaurant that will specialize in Italian offerings.

Rico Lunardi, the owner of the Slice on Broadway pizzerias, early next year will open Lucatino Italian Taverna on East Main Street in Carnegie next to a Slice on Broadway location.

Lunardi offered a recent video preview of the restaurant on social media.

“Quick little sneak peek inside Lucatino,” a Facebook post stated.

“Still in the middle of construction, but every day it’s starting to feel more real. Watching the space come together has been exciting — a lot of hard work, late nights, and vision going into this one. Can’t wait to open the doors and share what we’ve been building.”

Slice on Broadway has won numerous awards for its pie, and earlier this year Slice’s Chris Ostapenko won the World’s Best Cheese Slice Award at the annual International Pizza Expo & Conference in Las Vegas.

Slice on Broadway has locations in Beechview, Carnegie, Shadyside, Robinson, Wexford and the South Side.
