REDBANK TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A New Bethlehem teen suffered suspected minor injuries when the vehicle she was riding in struck a deer on State Route 28 in Redbank Township.

The Pennsylvania State Police in Clarion said the crash occurred around 5:17 p.m. on November 24.

According to the report, 39-year-old Kristina L. Wegley, of New Bethlehem, was traveling north in a 2015 Ford Escape.

Police said a deer entered the roadway from the right side in low-light conditions. The vehicle struck the deer, causing disabling damage to the Ford, according to the report.

Police stated that a passenger in the vehicle, 18-year-old Chalsea M. Wegley, of New Bethlehem, suffered a suspected minor injury and was transported to Brookville Hospital by Clarion Hospital EMS.

Kristina Wegley was not injured in the crash.

The report indicates both occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the incident.
