The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for western Pennsylvania, including the Pittsburgh metro area.
The advisory is in effect from 12:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Tuesday, with the forecast calling for between two and five inches of snowfall.
“The heaviest snow will move into the area between 4:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.,” said Tim Cermak, meteorologist with the National Weather Service. “The morning commute will definitely be impacted.”
Cermak noted families may want to pay attention to local school districts for information about closures, as well.
“The heaviest snow is expected to be falling … during the time the school buses are getting out,” he said.
The Winter Weather Advisory also applies to parts of east and central Ohio and northern West Virginia.
