A blast of winter weather is blowing through northwestern Pennsylvania.

The National Weather Service in Cleveland issued a winter weather advisory that includes Erie and Crawford counties. The advisory is in effect from 1 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2.

The weather service projects total new snow accumulations of an inch to 3 inches, with the heaviest snow expected between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. Lake effect snow showers are expected into the afternoon.

The daytime high Dec. 2 will be near 35 degrees. The nighttime low will be around 23.

Speed limit on interstates temporarily reduced

PennDOT has temporarily reduced the speed limit to 45 mph on parts of interstates 79 and 80 as a result of weather conditions:

I-79 from Exit 113 (Route 208/258, Grove City) to Exit 147A (Route 6/322, Meadville).

I-80 from the Ohio state line to Exit 42 (Route 38, Emlenton).
