SEPTA is closing sales offices at 9 more Regional Rail stations on New Year’s Eve.
Riders will no longer be able to pay at ticket windows beginning Jan. 1 at the Ambler, Doylestown, Media, Norristown, Penn Medicine, Temple, Warminster, Wayne Junction and Wilmington stops, transit officials said.
Waiting areas with sales offices will remain open for seating, bathrooms and other amenities during designated weekday hours. Passengers will need to use a Key, Senior Fare, Reduced Fare or CCT card to unlock the doors.
Authority representatives, in a post on SEPTA’s website, said the decision to shutter the windows is “due to a wide range of alternative fare purchase options.”
In addition to Key Cards, riders can now tap on and off with credit or debit cards and mobile wallet features, such as Apple Pay. Staff also accept cash or credit aboard Regional Rail trains.
SEPTA has moved to end sales at rail stations in recent years. In 2024, ticket booths were shut down at 24 stops.
