PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A man is dead after being involved in a series of crashes early Tuesday morning in Philadelphia’s Frankford neighborhood.
Police say it started when the driver of a pickup truck hit a tree while driving the wrong-way on the 4500 block of Castor Avenue around 2:30 a.m.
From there, authorities say the truck slammed into a number of parked cars on the 1200 block of Adams Avenue before taking off again.
The truck finally came to a stop at Kinsey and Tackawanna streets.
That’s when investigators say the 53-year-old driver apparently tried to get out and walk away, but later collapsed.
He was transported to Temple Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation.
