In their final Central League Championships, Lower Merion’s Nicholas Mazzeo and Alexander Mazzeo went 1-2 for the third straight year, claiming the team title Tuesday for the Aces.

Nicholas Mazzeo covered the Rose Tree Park course in 15:48.80, 7.8 seconds ahead of his brother. They finished in the same order each of the last two years, the Aces winning the title in 2023. This time, LM scored 61 points to ease past Haverford’s 78 and Ridley’s 97.

Teddy Foster of Haverford was third in 16:23.70. He was nearly 30 seconds up on teammate Sean Lawson. Ridley’s Paul Oluwa in fifth was the only other runner to break 17 minutes.

Connor Walsh of Radnor was sixth, followed by Haverford’s Ryan Cleary. Olma Matthewos was eighth for Ridley, with Penncrest’s Charles Mulholland and Patrick Luby of Harriton rounding out the top 10. Penncrest’s Rowan Carr did not run.

The girls title went to Conestoga, which had three of the top seven finishers in tallying 47 points. Marple Newtown was second with 101, Radnor third with 113.

Alexia Tubbs won the race in 18:31.80. She was 50 seconds up on the field, Strath Haven freshman Cayla Gaffney coming in next at 19:21.80.

Marple Newtown was led by Sloane Smith, who finished third in 19:28.30. Cecilia Kane of Ridley placed fifth, a spot ahead of Garnet Valley senior Avery Lustgarten. Radnor had a pair of top-10s with Katelyn Anderson eighth and Coco Conner ninth. Ryan Dankanis of Haverford rounded out the top 10.

At the Inter-Ac Championships:

Curtis Conner finished second as Episcopal Academy scored 48 points to win the boys title, just edging Penn Charter’s 55 and the 65 of Malvern Prep.

The Friars got the consolation of individual gold, Brock Yoder breaking the tape at Belmont Plateau in 16:18.70. Conner was next in 16:35.00, one of four Churchmen in the top 11.

Kaleb Young finished fifth in 17:09.30, with Kyle Zhang ninth and William Patterson 11th.

Haverford School finished fifth out of six teams. Colin Park led the Fords in 10th.

The girls field was without Delcos champ Kendra Williamson of EA. That would’ve only slowed Penn Charter, which took the top four spots to win with 18 points, ahead of Agnes Irwin (56) and EA (79).

Quakers freshman Mackenzie Skelly won in 17:44.80.

The best of the Delco lot was Carson Tierney of Notre Dame, who crossed sixth in 19:32.90. The Irish finished fifth out of seven teams. Agnes Irwin’s Emma Watson finished seventh in 19:35.60, one of five Owls in the top 15. Hannah Todd was EA’s best finisher in ninth.
