Khloe Mistishin and Maci Lazorchak each had two goals as Western Wayne defeated Scranton, 9-0, on Thursday night at Scranton Veterans Memorial Stadium to move a step closer to the Lackawanna League Division II girls soccer title.

The Lady ‘Cats are 11-0 in Division II, a half game ahead of 11-1 Honesdale, and can capture the league crown with a win over Mountain View on Monday.

Bryn Vinton, Myla Smith, Aliyah Gregory, Julia Burry and Sydney Sosa each added a goal for Western Wayne.

Demi Messner added a goal for Mountain View, and Emily Trichilo and Ava Ferguson each tacked on an assist, with Trichilo’s coming on the game-winner.

Riley Pietrowski had a goal and an assist for the Chargerettes.

Girls volleyball

Michelle Nidoh had 12 kills and six blocks to lead Dunmore to a 3-1 (25-21, 18-25, 25-23, 25-21) win over Montrose in a Lackawanna League match between two teams headed to the District 2 Class 2A playoffs.

Elana Piepoli had 19 digs, Amanda Dempsey had eight kills and seven digs, Leena Conte added six kills, 10 digs and seven service points, Sophia Denunzio had 11 service points, five kills and five digs, and Lizzie Mendola had eight assists and three aces for the Lady Bucks (11-3).

Sadie Jones had 16 kills and four blocks, Molly Weller had nine kills, seven blocks and 10 service points, Gracie Jones had 25 assists and 10 service points and Kirsten Eschbach had seven kills and 14 digs for Montrose (10-4).

Valley View 3, Scranton 2: Hanarra Timas had 14 kills to lead the Cougars to a 25-22, 25-18, 16-25, 22-25, 15-13 win.

Clare Murphy added nine blocks and seven kills, and Monica Orellana had 15 digs for Valley View (6-7).

Malaya Morrison had eight aces and six kills, Natalia Archangeli had 18 kills and 20 digs, Anna Conforti had seven digs and Alexis Lazdowsky had 16 assists for Scranton (6-7).

Delaware Valley 3, Hanover Area 0: Paris Machado had eight kills to lead the Lady Warriors to a 25-8, 25-7, 25-9 win over Hanover Area in their regular-season finale in the Wyoming Valley Conference.

Emiley Hughes added four kills and three blocks for Delaware Valley (12-4).
