AMITY TOWNSHIP, Pa. – A purveyor of small-batch, specialty coffee has expanded its footprint in Berks County, and guests can stop in to savor unique seasonal drinks, including a milk and cookies latte, gingerbread chai and grinch matcha.

Reading Coffee Company, a premier specialty coffee roaster and cafe, in mid-October opened another cafe location at The Pointe at Douglassville, a new development featuring retail, dining and luxury apartment living at Route 422 and Monocacy Creek Road in the Douglassville section of Amity Township.

As an anchor tenant, Reading Coffee Company brings its signature specialty coffee, hand-crafted beverages and welcoming atmosphere to this new community hub.

“We are beyond excited to expand our presence and introduce the Reading Coffee experience to Douglassville,” said Frank Orman, president and CEO of Reading Coffee Company, in a recent news release.

“The Pointe at Douglassville is the perfect location to serve both residents and commuters with our coffees and exceptional hospitality. This location will be geared toward convenience and our commuters who might not be able to get to our main location. This is easy – right on 422.”

The new café features a modern, inviting space designed for coffee lovers to gather, work and unwind.

Customers can enjoy an extensive menu of expertly roasted coffees, seasonal specialty drinks and fresh pastries, along with a selection of retail coffee for home brewing.

Additionally, the new location offers a curated selection of local and artisan goods, further strengthening Reading Coffee Company’s commitment to supporting the community.

Reading Coffee Company, founded in 1989, last year held a grand opening of its flagship cafe at 316 W. Main St. in Birdsboro.

The cafe supplements the company’s roastery, retail store and wine shop, all within its headquarters at the same address.

“We’ve always wanted to provide a welcoming and inclusive space where our customers can sit back, relax, and enjoy the curated products we have to offer,” Orman said last year.

Patrons visiting the Birdsboro cafe can enjoy a variety of high-quality coffee and tea, including pour-over options and cold brews; an assortment of light fare, gourmet pastries, breakfast bites, salads and more that complement your beverage of choice; and fine wines imported from throughout the world, available by the bottle or glass.

The cafe offers espresso drinks such as cortado, cappuccino and caramel macchiato; teas such as hot or iced London fog and matcha lattes; and natural energy drinks such as lemonade and Tropic Thunder (includes mango, pineapple, kiwi and dragon fruit pieces).

Customers also can enjoy seasonal drinks, including new holiday specials such as a gingerbread chai, grinch matcha, milk and cookies latte, German chocolate cake latte, tiramisu latte and pistachio raspberry cold brew.

The Birdsboro cafe incorporates state-of-the-art equipment that ensures each cup of coffee is brewed to perfection, utilizing precision grinding, advanced water filtration systems for optimal flavor extraction and cutting-edge brewers, including the “Cyclops” brewer by Ground Control.

“For the customers who want to test and sample coffees before purchasing, the PourSteady system lets Reading easily feature every coffee available in the building,” a news release states. “There’s no limit – the café can brew any origin, blend or flavor, one cup at a time.”

Mobile ordering is available, and for individuals who are unable to visit the cafe, The Reading Coffee Company offers free shipping and pick-up options for orders placed through the business’ website.

Reading Coffee Company, which originated at Eighth and Windsor streets in downtown Reading, offers high-quality, ethically traded coffee, including single-origins, rare exotics, unique blends and flavored selections.

Now based in Birdsboro, the business features around two dozen single-origin coffees, including medium and dark roasts from Burundi, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Peru, Sumatra and other international destinations, along with various blends and flavored varieties, including Breakfast, Kona and Seattle blends.

The new Douglassville cafe, at 824 Benjamin Franklin Highway, Suite 202, is open 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
