CINCINNATI — There were not many positives to come out of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ game against the Cincinnati Bengals, but they did walk out of the game without any serious injuries, head coach Mike Tomlin said.
At different points in the night, defensive tackle Keeanu Benton, cornerback Joey Porter Jr. and cornerback Darius Slay entered the blue medical tent, but all three returned.
Pittsburgh was without wide receiver Calvin Austin III, who missed his second straight game with a shoulder injury. In addition, safety Miles Killebrew went to injured reserve with a serious knee injury. The team hopes to get inside linebacker Malik Harrison back to help fill that void.
Still, the Steelers came out healthy and should be getting even healthier with the mini-bye of Thursday Night Football coming up. The Packers will be charged up for a game against Aaron Rodgers, their former quarterback.
That will be a significant matchup to watch as the Steelers prepare for a much tougher stretch of their schedule, even as they sit at 4-2 and atop their division.
