SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — As the winter weather is upon us in northeastern Pennsylvania, Scranton firefighters braved the elements to battle a house fire Sunday evening.
Lackawanna County officials confirmed with 28/22 News that firefighters were called to the 3200 block of Cedar Avenue in Scranton for a house fire at about 5:50 p.m. Sunday.
The Scranton Fire Department is leading the response to the incident, and so far, no one has been reported injured.
Authorities say no one was home at the time of the fire, and the fire does not yet pose a threat to neighboring homes.

28/22 News spoke with Scranton Fire Department Chief Dan Hallowich, who confirmed one person has been displaced as a result of the fire and is getting help from the Red Cross.
So far, authorities do not know what caused the house fire, and the incident is under investigation.
